Dome
blowing is a process whereby a sheet of heated
plastic, usually cast acrylic, is heated up in a
thermoforming oven. After the sheet has reached its
forming temperature it is placed into a clamping
ring and air is blown into the sheet. The elasticity
of the sheet causes it to form into a uniform
hemisphere - or dome.
Atlas are capable of forming a
dome up to 1000mm in diameter in acrylic colours,
frost & clear & PETG.
